NORAD Draft Hockey League is a hockey analytics platform that tracks game events, generates advanced statistics, and helps coaches make data-driven decisions. It processes game data through an ETL pipeline and presents it through an interactive dashboard.

Accounts are created by your league administrator. Contact your commissioner or team admin to receive an invitation email. Once invited, follow the link to set up your password.

NORAD Draft Hockey League has several roles: Commissioner (full access), Coach (team and player data), Scorekeeper (game tracking), Player (own stats), and Parent (child's stats). Your role is assigned by your league administrator.

NORAD Draft Hockey League works best in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest two versions). The tracker tool requires a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. Mobile browsers are supported for viewing stats.

After logging in, visit your Profile to confirm your name and position. Coaches should review their roster under Team settings. Commissioners should verify league settings and upload their game schedule.

Navigate to Tracker → New Game. Select the home and away teams, confirm the roster, then tap "Start Period 1". Events are logged in real time using the on-screen event buttons.

The tracker supports: Shots (on net, blocked, wide, goal), Faceoffs, Zone entries and exits, Penalties, Hits, Turnovers, and Line changes. Each event captures the player, location on the rink, and timestamp.

Tap the last-event chip at the bottom of the tracker to undo the most recent event. For older events, use the event timeline panel (swipe left) to find and delete or edit the incorrect entry.

The tracker requires an active internet connection to sync events in real time. If connectivity is lost, events are queued locally and synced when the connection is restored. Avoid closing the browser tab during an outage.

After a game ends, navigate to Games → select the game → Export. You can download a CSV of all events, a PDF shot chart, or a printable box score. Exports are also available to coaches from the coaching portal.

Scorekeepers can display a QR code from Admin → Check-in. Players scan it with their phone camera to mark themselves as present for the game. Attendance is visible in real time on the admin panel.

Players can see their stats under Profile → My Stats. Coaches see team and player stats under their Team dashboard. Full league stats are available on the League Overview page accessible to all users.

Expected Goals (xG) measures the quality of a shot based on its location, type, and game situation. A shot with xG = 0.25 means there is a 25% historical chance of scoring from that position. Higher xG totals indicate better shot quality, not just quantity.

Stats update automatically after the scorekeeper ends the game in the tracker. Full processing takes 2–5 minutes. Advanced stats (xG, zone entry rates) may take up to 15 minutes as the ETL pipeline runs.

Yes — navigate to Players → Compare. Select up to 4 players and choose a stat category. The comparison view shows a radar chart and side-by-side stat table. You can export the comparison as a PDF.

Shot charts display each shot as a dot on a rink diagram. Green dots = goals, yellow = shots on net, grey = missed/blocked. The dot size reflects xG value. Use the filter panel to narrow by player, game, or situation (5v5, PP, SH).

Go to Admin → Registrations → Add Player. Enter the player's name, date of birth, and position. You can also bulk-import players via CSV from the Import button. Players receive an invitation email if an email address is provided.

Commissioners can manage the schedule under Admin → Schedule. Add games individually or import a season schedule from a CSV. Each game requires home team, away team, date, time, and rink.

The ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipeline processes raw game tracking data into the 153 analytics tables that power the dashboard. It runs automatically after each game, or manually from Admin → ETL. Contact your administrator if stats seem outdated.

Navigate to Admin → Seasons → New Season. Enter the season name, start and end dates. Then assign teams and generate the schedule. Historical seasons remain accessible in read-only mode.

Go to Admin → Registrations → find the user → Edit Role. Role changes take effect immediately. If a user reports missing features, confirm their role assignment matches their expected access level.

NORAD Draft Hockey League offers tiered plans based on league size and feature needs. Contact support for current pricing. Recreational leagues have different options than competitive or elite programs.

Commissioners can track registration fees under Admin → Fees. Mark players as paid or unpaid, record payment date and method, and export a fee report. Players and parents can see their own fee status in their profile.

NORAD Draft Hockey League supports credit/debit cards and bank transfers for subscription payments. League fees collected from players are tracked in the system but processed outside NORAD Draft Hockey League (e.g., by your league treasurer).

Subscription management is handled through your account settings. Contact support to process a cancellation. Data is retained for 90 days after cancellation and can be exported during that period.
